How to install & go live

Use this page as your public install and documentation URL for the Shopify App Store listing.

  1. Install ProfitRain from the Shopify App Store (search “ProfitRain: Quantity Breaks”) or open it from Shopify Admin → Apps after your store is approved for the app.
  2. Approve permissions when prompted. ProfitRain needs access to products, discounts, themes, and publications to sync offers and widgets. Order read access may be used for aggregated, non-PII analytics only.
  3. Create an offer in ProfitRain → Offers → choose type (quantity break, BOGO, bundle, mix & match, or free gift), assign products, set tiers, and set status to Active.
  4. Add theme blocks: Online Store → Themes → Customize → Product template → Add block → Apps → ProfitRain (pick the block that matches your offer type). Save the theme.
  5. Verify on storefront: open a product with an active offer, select tiers, add to cart, and confirm checkout shows the expected discount from the ProfitRain function.
  6. Billing (optional): upgrade under ProfitRain → Billing inside Shopify admin. Downgrade or uninstall anytime; see Terms for subscription rules.

App URL (embedded admin): served via Shopify after install. Extension deploy is managed by Qaimos; merchants always receive updates through the App Store version.

Before you write

Include your myshopify.com store domain, offer type, product URL, and screenshots of admin preview vs storefront if something looks wrong.

Emergency uninstall

Shopify Admin → Apps → ProfitRain → Delete. Active discounts created by the app should be removed or deactivated in ProfitRain before uninstall if you need a clean catalog.

1. Overview

ProfitRain (“the App”) is a Shopify application that helps merchants configure product-page offers and checkout discounts. This policy describes how Qaimos processes data when merchants install the App and when their customers interact with storefront widgets.

2. Data we process

  • Merchant account data: Shopify shop domain, staff user identifiers provided by Shopify OAuth, access tokens stored encrypted for API access, billing plan and subscription status.
  • Merchant configuration: offer definitions, product/variant IDs, widget styling, and shop metafields written for theme display.
  • Operational analytics: aggregated order totals and internal event counters where enabled (no standalone customer profiles are created by Qaimos for marketing).
  • Customer data: The App does not require shoppers to create a ProfitRain account. Checkout and cart processing occur on Shopify; discount eligibility uses cart line attributes and Shopify’s platform.

3. Purposes & legal bases

We process data to provide the App (contract), secure the service (legitimate interests), comply with law, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal data.

4. Retention

Merchant configuration is kept while the App is installed. On uninstall, shop session data is deleted and shop records are removed per our uninstall webhook handling. Backups may retain encrypted remnants for up to 30 days.

5. Sub-processors

Hosting (e.g. Railway), Shopify platform APIs, and email delivery for support. A current list is available on request.

6. International transfers

Data may be processed in the UK, EEA, or United States with appropriate safeguards where required.

7. Your rights

Merchants in the UK/EEA may access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and lodge a complaint with the ICO (UK). Customer requests about orders should be directed to the merchant; merchants may contact us for App-related exports.

8. Shopify mandatory webhooks

We implement Shopify’s mandatory compliance webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact). ProfitRain stores minimal customer PII; where none exists, requests are acknowledged with an empty export.

9. Changes

We will post updates on this page with a revised effective date.

Terms of service

By installing or using ProfitRain you agree to these terms with Qaimos.

1. Service

ProfitRain provides discount configuration, theme widgets, and related Shopify integrations. Features may change; material reductions will be communicated in-app where feasible.

2. Merchant responsibilities

You must comply with Shopify’s terms, applicable consumer laws, and pricing/advertising rules in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for offer accuracy on your storefront.

3. Subscriptions & refunds

Paid plans bill through Shopify’s billing API. Trials convert to paid unless cancelled before trial end. Refunds follow Shopify’s app billing policies unless otherwise required by law. Downgrades take effect per Shopify’s proration rules.

4. Acceptable use

No reverse engineering of the App, abuse of API limits, or use to violate third-party rights. We may suspend access for material breach.

5. Disclaimer

The App is provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee specific revenue outcomes. Shopify platform outages are outside our control.

6. Limitation of liability

Qaimos’s aggregate liability arising from the App is limited to fees paid in the twelve months before the claim, except where liability cannot be limited by law.

7. Termination

You may uninstall at any time. We may terminate with notice if the service is discontinued. Sections on liability and payment survive termination.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections.

Does ProfitRain require theme code edits?

No. You add ProfitRain blocks from the theme editor (Apps section) on your product template. Widgets load via the Theme App Extension.

How are discounts applied at checkout?

Checkout discounts run through a Shopify Function synced with your active offers. The product page widget and cart line attributes stay aligned with that logic.

What is included on the free plan?

All offer types are available on up to two products with active offers at no charge. Upgrade in-app for higher product limits.

Where is merchant data stored?

Offer configuration is stored in the app database and Shopify shop metafields for theme rendering. See our privacy policy for retention and GDPR webhooks.
