Privacy policy
How CalScai handles photos, on device logs, Snap estimates, and App Store purchases.
Policy details
This policy describes CalScai (the app) and the information flows that matter to your privacy. If you have questions, contact us at info@qaimos.co.uk.
Who we are
CalScai is an iPhone application. For privacy related questions, email info@qaimos.co.uk.
What CalScai does not do
- CalScai does not require you to create an account in the app.
- CalScai does not include third party advertising or behavioural analytics SDKs in the app manifest we ship (see Apple’s Privacy Nutrition Labels for the build you install).
- CalScai does not sync your meal diary to a first party cloud feed as part of the core product; recent data is stored locally on the device within a rolling window.
Camera and photo library
CalScai requests camera access to photograph meals and drinks, and photo library access for images you explicitly pick. Those images remain on your device until you choose to run an analysis or save them as part of your normal photo library outside the app. Apple’s handling of photos is governed by Apple and your settings.
Nutrition analysis (Snap)
When you ask CalScai to analyze a meal or drink photo, the app may send that image over an encrypted internet connection so automated image understanding can return nutrition style estimates (for example calories, macros, and a hydration style contribution). Results are shown in the app and can be saved to your Today log when the analysis completes successfully.
CalScai is designed around same day awareness on your device. It is not a medical product and does not promise clinical accuracy.
Credits and purchases
Successful analyses consume in app credits. You may purchase additional credits through Apple’s In App Purchase system (StoreKit). Apple processes payment and receipt validation; we do not receive your full card number through CalScai.
Data stored on your device
CalScai stores logged meals, manual entries, hydration adjustments, your calorie goal, and your credit balance in on device app storage (for example Application Support), subject to a rolling retention window described in the app. Deleting the app or clearing that storage removes that data from the device.
Children
CalScai is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
Apple and TestFlight
Apple may collect analytics or crash data through the App Store, TestFlight, or iOS according to your device and programme settings. That collection is described by Apple, not by this policy alone.

This site may link to email or external pages you choose to open. Those services have their own privacy practices.
Changes
We may update this policy when CalScai changes. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do.
